"Greetings outlander !"
April sees a flurry of huttese activity, with our heroes, on Ophuchi, fleeing into the nearby Hutt bathing house, pursued by stormtroopers !
A superb pic by Scott of Luke, Leia, and 3PO rushing through the Hutt bathhouse to the chagrin of its patrons !
When the Imperial forces enter the bath house, one Hutt makes it perfectly clear where they stand ! As Threepio will tell you, it's very bad luck to disturb a bathing Hutt !
Another great image by Scott, showing the bathing Hutt facing up to Imperial stormtroopers.
Later, the Galactic Alliance fleet attacks Star Destroyers over Kessel, and as the tide turns with mysterious purple gas clouds enveloping the Imperial craft, a host of exotic battleships drop out of hyperspace !
The Hutt battle fleet arrive in the Kessel system. A dynamic composition by Nat.
These Hutt warships have been sent by Barrola The Great of Nal Hutta to ensure their rights to the spice mining world. Heavily armed and plated, they strike fear into the hearts of worlds unlucky enough to catch the greedy attention of Barrola as he looks to extend his empire.
The Hutt battle fleet hangs against the inky backdrop of space. Artwork by Nat.
Admiral Ackbar and General Calrissian on the bridge of Home One react to this turn of events.
Ackbar and Calrissian ponder their next move. Artwork by Nat.
Meanwhile, in this scene, Master Jedi Luke Skywalker bids farewell to his droids on Kessel.
Luke instructs the droids, and bids them farewell. Artwork by Scott.
The droids have their own mission, but Master Skywalker's destination is the castle tower high atop this imposing cliff. "Jedi business", as his father would say.
This new artwork can be seen in full size in the recently unveiled gallery section of the VE-ST, found here, under the subsections entitled 'Nal Hutta' and 'Kessel'.
May the 25th 2007 sees the thirtieth anniversary of the 1977 theatrical release of Star Wars. Scott and I - the Virtual Edition Sequel Trilogy collaborators - hope to release the script of Episode VII Plague of Doom to mark this occasion, and to include all our illustrations up until this point. As the months go by, I will then add all new illustrations into the story, bringing alive the text and dialogue !
