The Prophecy
And in time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as : THE SON OF THE SUN.
And he shall bring Balance to the Force.

New characters & locales for Solo !
31st March 2018
In March we started hearing snippets of details about new characters and locales for SOLO : Enfys Nest will lead his terrorising Cloud-Rider Gang ; there are implications that put Nest on the industrial planet of Vandor, which seems to show TWO distinct locations, the dry desert of the Fuerteventura location with the domed buildings and the Italian Alps with the Conveyex Train seen in the recent trailer that apparently has Han, Chewie, and Beckett undertaking a heist..... and includes a fight with Enfys Nest !

This adds to the list released in January of the new worlds of industrial Corellia, mining Kessel, and muddy Mimban. Later in March, we learned of the 'Mimbanese', a tall humanoid bipedal alien race with green fur, large eyes, and sporting a mane of pointy hair. The very first spin-off novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye introduced us to the swamp world of Mimban as well as the similarly-described duo alien species, the 'Mimbanites' and the 'Cowey'.

Also, we heard some clarification on the Qi'ra character played by Emilia Clarke : we meet her at the age of 18 enmeshed in criminal gangs on Corellia ; later we also heard through a tie-in novel synopsis that both Han and Qi'ra were surviving in the underworld of Corellia from an early age, and were separately caught up together in a botched crime and now on the run from not only their unscrupulous boss but also the Imperial law enforcement !

The trailer certainly indicates that we'll be seeing timeframe jumps within the story - a precedent set by Rogue One - so it will be interesting to see how the actors age their characters convincingly.

At the end of March, director Ron Howard confirmed that SOLO is all but complete, with the score and sound mix finished, and the last of the VFX being reviewed.... and he confirmed a new trailer is being prepared !

In LFL news, it was announced that director / producer / actor Jon Favreau [IRON MAN, AVENGERS, JUNGLE BOOK ; roles in CLONE WARS & SOLO] will lead the team developing the Star Wars live-action TV series for Disney.

It's been a busy month, but the illustrated virtual edition Episode VII : Plague of Doom continued with a new piece of artwork.
Commander Kane and the incumbent Hutt Weesla move down a dark corridor deep within the castle on their way to review Dr Bloodory's work. They - and Great Lord Barrola the Hutt - have just witnessed the death of a Huttlet apparently under Weesla's command, and now the latter is realising the consequences of the difficult situation into which Kane is forcing him.

You can see the VE artwork in the 'Kessel' art gallery as well as in the online illustrated story, and you can discuss this in the forum here !
