Fan site SWNN, among others, confirmed that the context of The Last Jedi title is plural. The recently released international marketing campaigns have had to conform to local plural-specific spellings. This implies that at the very least we should see Luke and Rey together as Jedi.

Through February, fan site MSW had a brief flurry of rumours on The Last Jedi.
An early rumour referred to a "red planet with snow", with "trenches" and "Imperialistic architecture and design", all presumably indicating a First Order location. Then came a report about a massive wedge-shaped Super Star Destroyer, but pared down so that it is without its OT style 'city' ; Finn also has a mission involving this ship, and is disguised as an Imperial F.O. Officer, resulting in the comic confusion of an apparent promotion for Finn ! At the end of the month, MSW provided a summary on where the galaxy is at as Episode VIII opens : the secretive military arm of the First Order is now more widely known, and, following the earlier period of peace, recent events have tipped the Galaxy back towards an overt Civil War, with various parties being forced to choose their loytitley, a planet destroying First Order, or the peace-promoting Republic.

In my writing for the Virtual Edition Episode IX, I've recently been able to expand the later sequences on Kashyyyk, where the Wookiees are attacking the Imperials, and the Alliance's stolen Star Destroyer comes into play too ! |
