Episode IX wraps, and lots of little rumours abound...
28th February 2019 |
Hot on the heels of Episode IX completing principal photography in mid February, lots of little rumours of plot elements began circulating. From early February to late February, these ranged from :
An area called 'The Beyond', from which the Knights of Ren return, and from which there may be an additional threat ;
"Red stormtroopers" and private militia armies, the former answering only to Kylo Ren and his Knights ;
The plot 'macguffin' starts out as one thing then evolves to become something else ;
Lando will have a brief role as plot guide ;
Threepio will briefly hold Chewbacca's bowcaster and bandolier and Rey's staff ;
Rey's hairstyle will match that of Episode VII presumably to sync with the footage of Carrie Fisher ;
Keri Russell's character appears to be suited and helmeted and might be a bounty hunter ; her outfit is purple with rose-gold, and swept-back helmet ;
Lots of costumes revealed on a reference photography sheet ;
Real-world Jordan might have been used for two planet locations ;
There's a "festival party" on a "classic" planet ;
The Lars homestead set was rebuilt at both Pinewood and Jordan, and Luke's old X-Wing fighter was present, with Rey holding Luke's helmet ;
Kylo has a new spaceship that is white with red and black detailing, and Vader's helmet is stored inside ;
There is a mining town set, with a droid factory ;
Kylo Ren fights in a swamp location ;
The Millennium Falcon suffers some fire ;
There might be a 'classic' A-Wing fighter involved.

At the end of February, SW.com gave detailed descriptions as to what to expect at the two Disney Star Wars theme parks opening later this year. Helpfully fansite SWNN summarised and linked the four articles. It certainly looks to be a fully immersive experience ! :o)

SWNN reported that the Obi-Wan movie may now be going ahead as the third TV (streaming) series and may be for six episodes.

In the virtual edition for Episode VII : Plague of Doom our heroes have just come face to face with two patrol troopers ! Without warning, two stones smash into the guards' helmets, knocking them to the ground. As Han takes in the quick turn of events, Leia confirms that she was responsible for the Force-powered throw, much to her brother's encouragement.
